EXILE Books joined forces with Miami Lighthouse for the Blind this summer as part of EXILE's residency at HistoryMiami Museum. Exploring the independent histories that comprise our city's past, present, and future, EXILE chronicled the Lighthouse community's voice through a tactile collaborative zine Our Stories. In this vein, artists from the Miami Lighthouse Art Program led by Nelba Gonzalez made tactile reliefs representing their personal stories. These reliefs are being donated as a series to the HistoryMiami Museum archive along with a blindfold, inviting audiences to experience these unique works just as they were made. EXILE will also release a publication to commemorate the project, featuring images of the reliefs alongside individual accounts of each artist's histories. This publication will also live within the museum's collection, showcasing the Lighthouse's artistic offerings while simultaneously archiving its cultural legacy.
