Passing Through by Juana Meneses

Juana Meneses revisits the construction of Alligator Alley, a two-lane highway connecting the east and west coasts of Florida. Stretching across the Everglades, the highway threatens to disrupt the natural ecosystems and spiritual wonder of Old Florida’s historic nature preserves. Passing Through interprets the Alley’s position as an in-between, transitory space and recounts its controversial creation alongside the river of grass.
