A-ZINES by EXILE Books

Documenting EXILE’s five-month residency at HistoryMiami Museum, A-ZINES compiles our collaborations into a new zine that reflects Miami’s diverse community, taking the pulse of counterculture while charting an alternative story. 

Designed to reflect the unique nature of each workshop, A-ZINES is composed of various textural layers of paper, color, and imagery artists have selected and repurposed from the HistoryMiami archives. Peeling back page after page, the reader feels as though they’re perusing Miami’s open ended histories, envisioning them in a fresh way. Bound simply with two metal eyelets and divided chronologically into 9 “chapters”, each is dedicated to showcasing themes of a particular zine-making event. A–ZINES provides a platform for a reader’s own (re)interpretation of our community’s histories.
