Lavender Scare by Arantza Peña Popo

Arantza Pena Popo’s Lavender Scare follows a harrowing journey of a girl trying to escape a vibrant petal monster. This adventure stands as an allegory for the author’s own journey of self-acceptance with her queerness. Through this adventure, our protagonist learns to accept their sexuality (along with earning a few bruises!)

Arantza uses her intricate drawing style and vibrant colors to create a refreshingly off-kilter coming-out story for a new generation of queers folx. Also, this comic is printed in a pretty special (and quirky) printing process called “risograph”, meaning that each copy your receive will be uniquely yours!
