My First Bikini by Elena Medel

My First Bikini is the United States debut of acclaimed Spanish poet Elena Medel.
Originally published in 2002 as Mi primer bikini (DVD), the collection was written by Medel at the age of 16 and won the Andalucía Joven Prize for Poetry.

In 2013, Medel won the Loewe Young Poets Prize, Spain's most prestigious award for a poet under 30, for her collection Chatterton (Visor, 2014). She also publishes and edits La Bella Varsovia, a literary imprint at the forefront of Europe's youth poetry movement.My First Bikini is translated by Lizzie Davis, whose previous works have appeared in The Brooklyn Rail, The Bitter Oleander, Circumference, and Words Without Borders, among others.
