Church Owls, Twister a Tutu and a Beachball

EXILE Books is pleased to present a mini-exhibition by the collaborative trio Gilles Dedecker, Kirsten Vanlangenaeker, and Robin Castelijns. Based in Belgium, this collective gathered together at the Frans Masereel Centre located in Kasterlee, Belgium to spontaneously create a new series of risograph and digital zines.

Produced while in residence at the Centre, the zines vary in topics while a central theme of “Unheimlichkeit" emerges. Loosely translated, this means eeriness or uncanniness. Unabashedly weird, subjects explored range from celebrity cults, subversive memories, and religious reliquaries to animal caricatures, divine interventions, and sinister wonders.

Unapologetic and elusive, these zines from Belgium captivate the imagination. This Exakt Kollektiv brings their dark forest to Miami.
