Fungal presentation in conjunction with CFSTA

Join us this Saturday from 3-5 pm at UNTITLED art fair for a special presentation! Dr. Jason Downing lead orchid biologist of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s Million Orchid Project will host a short discussion with Casey Zap director of Center for Subtropical Affairs (CSTA) & Joshua Sagarribay mycologist at CSTA and student on the reintroduction of native endangered Florida orchid species throughout the urban core of Miami and our region, mutualism through fungal symbiosis and the role of citizen science in efforts towards sustainability.  Following the talk we are making specialized lab equipment available to participants who will transplant orchid seedlings in sterile conditions teaching and reinforcing concepts in biology, chemistry, and environmental science.
