The 2016 Miami Zine Fair

EXILE Books is pleased to announce the 2016 Miami Zine Fair in partnership with HistoryMiami Museum and O, Miami Poetry Festival.

The 2016 Miami Zine Fair will take place at the HistoryMiami Museum from 11 am to 5 pm, bringing together over 150 artists, writers, illustrators, activists, and poets under one large tent on the cultural plaza. The event will feature live DJs, performances, site-specific artworks, and workshops. This year’s zine fair will highlight the wide array of makers that are embracing the art of self publishing in our city, drawing in people of all ages and backgrounds. The fair holds something for everyone: visitors will discover participatory installations, multimedia activations, as well as hundreds of independently-published works on display by local and international artists. Ranging from the simple to the saddle-stitched, the public is invited to touch, feel, peruse, and even smell.

Contribute your voice to the HistoryMiami Archive and join EXILE Books in the lobby and make a zine on our copy machine. Stop by and check out live Riso printing with Portable Editions in the community gallery; a zine workshop with Adler Guerrier using source materials from the HistoryMiami archives; contribute to the commemorative zine with Dale Zines; the epic coloring party with Doodlers Anonymous; and an art installation by Nina Hartmann in conjunction with a special Miami zine release by 8-Ball Zines featuring local artists Domingo Castillo, Annabell Lee, and Laz Rodriguez. DJ sets by Edau, Dale Zine Radio, Lizzi Bougatsos, and Dani Champagne. Opening ceremony by HUFFER COLLECTIVE. Fine food provided by The Plant, Jackson Soul Food, and Palomilla with specialty craft brews by Boxelder. Snacks by Kind Bar.
